July 2007
Jan Herman Linge
It’s with great sadness that we have to report that Jan Herman Linge, the designer of the Yngling, has passed away.

Jan Herman was always a very special person to all Yngling Sailors. Present at all our World Championships until recently, he was always the well known character in the background. Always ready for a discussion whether it was about Ynglings, sailing, the past or the future.

A very shy, correct and modest man who got endless applause at his speech at the 2004 European Championship when he, among other things, apologized to all the sailors for all the misery he had caused knowing how much work is involved before you are on the start line ready to go.

Jan Herman will always be remembered and loved by Yngling Sailors and many others worldwide for the happiness and joy he brought into our lives.
