International Yngling Association is feeling fantastic at SCSW Segelclub Seekirchen.

pha. Yesterday Friday the Austrian championship in the Yngling class began in the Seekirchen sailing club on Wallersee. There are participating 20 boats from three nations, besides 18 Austrian teams there is one from Germany and one from Switzerland. The clubhouse offers an ideal infrastructure for events of this size.
On the first day it was cloudy with a grey sky and 1.5 to 3 Beaufort northeast wind. It blew with sporadic wind shifts up to 25°. No side was constantly preferred, the teams had to decide with each beat again which strategy they wanted to apply.
In the evening the club offered a fine Paella and Spanish wine and the sailors enjoyed this meal visibly. ...

International Yngling Association is feeling cool at Segelclub TWV Achensee.

pha. On the weekend of 10/11 August, 14 teams from three countries traveled to Austria at the Achensee. There have participated eight boats from Switzerland, five boats from Austria and one boat from Germany. The lake is very popular with the Swiss, because it offers excellent wind conditions, which are not often found in Switzerland. Normally a constant thermal wind of 4 to 5 Bft blows. In addition, the Achensee is located between Innsbruck and Munich and can be reached relatively quickly from Switzerland. And the general conditions with a unique clubhouse, which used to be a monastery, as well as the scenery with an impressive mountain world make the regatta a perfect event.

On Saturday the wind from the northwest came first with 5 Bft, which then slowed down to 2 Bft in the evening. Four longer runs were held, which demanded a lot of strength and endurance from the teams. On Sunday a race with a constant south wind of 3 Bft followed. After SUI455 with Christoph Bichsel / Michele Keegan / Markus Jakob had led on Saturday, SUI458 with Thomas Beck / Ulrich Vogler / Michael Schoedon won the fifth run on Sunday and thus the series. On the third place followed the strong sailing team SUI463 with Micha Lehmann / Sandra Lehmann / Helena Blosgeber.
